Its RECOMMENDED to use MPEG2MKV.exe for creating those files and to compare the results with self-made implementations. The DC-DSP Filter is a dynamic filter which allows you to use as many DSP filters as you need in multiple instances. And I just noticed that my device manager is blank this is a rather new development because earlier today I could open my device manager and see all me devices no problem. You dont even have to know how to convert the audio codec the only thing you may need to know is how to read the file format. The usual size of the format chunk is 16 unless there are any extra format bytes see below. And I realized that my Device Manager is empty which is a fairly new development because earlier today I was able to open my Device Manager and see all the devices I had no problem. The usual size of the format part is 16 unless there are multiple format bytes see below. Now I just use ZIP but feel interested in considering something more relevant. You dont even need to know how to convert the audio codec the only thing you need to know is how to read the file format. So what are the codecs and the parameters which could do the job? WavPack and OptimFrog come to my mind as possible candidates but I'm not sure and need somebody qualified better to confirm (and I would really prefer to avoid OptimFrog because it's closed-source and extremely exotic, nevertheless I'm curious to know if it qualifies).

Perhaps I'm wrong - I hardly am too much of an expert. The error can be safely ignored in many applications but I doubt I can use them when a perfectly reversible pure function is what I need.Īs far as I know FLAC, ALAC and Monkey Audio are limited to 24-bit integers so FLAC/ALAC/APE decoding can hardly yield bit-perfect original when converted back to 32-bit float. This is why I need to compress the file such a way decompressing it back would yield a perfectly identical waveform.įrom what I know about IEEE floating point numbers these are quirky and you can not expect results of any operation on them to equal anything in particular exactly.

But this seems to be absent in a 64-bit Windows 7. I believe the 'Microsoft Wave Mapper' was responsible for raw sample format conversions.

The nature of the signal is not known to me so I don't really know what parameters can affect it. Reported error reason: 'Codec not installed.' I am not sure if uncompressed IEEE Float samples (IANA codec ID: 0x0003) need an explicit 'codec' at all. I've got some 32-bit float WAV files which contain music and some valuable inaudible signal (different in each of the 2 channels) mixed into it which is important to preserve.
